About Matching Grapes

Meet Michelle and Gonzo, originally from Argentina and Spain. We met in Scotland back in 2014 and have been together ever since. Over the years they have lived and worked in the UK, Argentina, Spain, Iceland, and now Denmark, always within the hospitality industry.
Matching Grapes is their idea of the kind of wine bar they always wanted to visit themselves. It has been on their minds for several years, and they finally opened it in 2026.
They wanted to create a place that feels less like a traditional wine bar and
more like being invited into a friend’s living room. Somewhere relaxed,
welcoming and completely free of wine snobbery.
Everything they serve is carefully hand-picked, from the wines to their
non-alcoholic drinks, simply because they’re products they genuinely love
and are excited to share with others. Their wines by the glass change every
month, which means there’s always something new to discover, whether
they are a complete beginner or a wine enthusiast.
One of their favourite little details is that every drink comes with a
complimentary tapa, specially chosen to complement what’s in your glass.
It’s way of showing that wine is always better when shared with good food,
good conversation and good company.
